Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Kahaani Kund Android app (the "App", "Service") collects, how we and our partners use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy. "We", "us" and "our" mean Kahaani Kund, based in Pakistan.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Collected automatically when you use the App
- Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID) and other device identifiers, used by our ad and attribution partners.
- Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a device identifier that identifies the App on your device.
- IP address and approximate location. Your IP address is received by our servers and by our ad and analytics partners. They may derive an approximate (city/region level) location from it. The App does not request access to your device's GPS or precise location.
- Ad and app interactions: ad requests, impressions, clicks, and whether a rewarded video was watched to completion.
- Crash reports and diagnostics: technical information about crashes and performance, used to fix bugs.
- Installed apps information: our advertising and attribution partners (for example Meta) may check whether certain apps, such as Facebook or Instagram, are installed on your device. This is used to attribute app installs to advertising campaigns and to help prevent ad fraud. We do not receive a list of the apps you have installed.
- Notification token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token and the notification topics your device is subscribed to, so we can deliver push notifications about new stories.
1.2 Stored in our database (Google Firebase)
The App keeps one record per device in Cloud Firestore containing: the device identifier, your FCM notification token, the platform (Android), first-seen and last-seen timestamps, and the list of story parts you have unlocked by watching rewarded ads. This record is not linked to your name or contact details.
1.3 Stored only on your device
- Your bookmarked stories, your light/dark theme choice, and the fact that you have accepted this Privacy Policy.
This information stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
1.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, home address, payment information, contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera data, or precise location. The App has no user accounts.
2. How we use information
- To provide and maintain the App: loading stories, audio and images, remembering unlocked parts and bookmarks.
- To send push notifications about new stories (you can turn these off, see section 8).
- To show ads and to measure and improve advertising performance, including attributing app installs to advertising campaigns.
- To detect and fix crashes and technical problems, and to keep the App secure and prevent abuse.
- To understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
3. Advertising
The App is free and supported by ads. It shows banner ads, an ad when the App opens, and optional rewarded video ads that unlock further parts of a story. Ads are served through the Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) mediation platform, which requests ads from ad networks including Unity Ads and InMobi.
These partners may collect and use your advertising ID, IP address, device information and ad interaction data to select and deliver ads (which may be personalized), to limit how often an ad is shown, to measure ads and to prevent fraud. They act under their own privacy policies (see section 4).
Your ad choices. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads; the exact path depends on your device). When you opt out, you will still see ads but they will not be personalized.
4. Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services. They may process the data described above under their own privacy policies:

5. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share it only:
- with the service providers and advertising partners listed above, so the App can function and show and measure ads;
- if required by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority;
- to protect our rights, the safety of users, or to investigate fraud or abuse;
- in connection with a merger, sale or transfer of the App, in which case we will tell you of any change to how your information is handled;
- with your consent.
6. Retention
The device record described in section 1.2 is kept while the App is in use and is deleted when you ask us to delete it (see section 7). Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for a limited period set by Google (currently 90 days). Data held by ad and analytics partners is retained according to their own policies. Information stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
7. Deleting your data and your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information we hold about your device. To request deletion of your Firestore device record, email kahaanikund@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my data" and the App version. Because we do not have accounts and do not know who you are, we may ask you for a small amount of information from your device so we can find your record. We will respond within a reasonable time and will delete the record unless we must keep it by law.
You can also uninstall the App and clear its data at any time. To stop data collection by advertising partners, use the ad choices in section 3. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection law, such as the right to object to or restrict certain processing; contact us to exercise them.
8. Notifications
On Android 13 and later the App asks your permission before sending notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings (Settings → Apps → Kahaani Kund → Notifications).
9. Security
Data is sent between the App and our servers over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Our service providers and partners operate globally, so information may be processed in countries other than where you live, which may have different data protection laws. We work with providers that maintain appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at anyone under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Content and links to other sites
Stories in the App are works of fiction. Ads may link to third-party websites or app stores that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices and encourage you to read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Please review it periodically. Changes take effect when posted.
